Nineteen months after closing its gates, Constitution Yards Beer Garden is making a comeback on the Wilmington Riverfront. The outdoor venue officially reopened to the public on June 11 at a brand new spot.
The updated setup is located at 303 Justison Street, sitting directly across the road from its original footprint. The hospitality arm of Connecticut-based Imian Partners is once again running the operation in partnership with the Buccini Pollin Group.
Operators described the extended closure as a lengthy wait for the team. Staff members are now finalizing the space and preparing to welcome people back for the summer season.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
🍻 Delaware lawmakers consider 2 AM last call
Source: WDEL
Delaware lawmakers are looking at a proposal that would push the state's last call back by an hour. The legislation would allow local bars to keep serving customers until 2 AM instead of the current 1 AM cutoff.
The extra hour would not be mandatory. Towns and counties would have the option to adopt the later closing time or stick with their current rules. Supporters argue the change would help local spots compete with neighboring states like Maryland.
Some local officials are pushing back, citing concerns about stretching police resources deeper into the early morning. The bill passed the Delaware House and is now heading to the Senate.
🗳️ Senator Chris Coons seeks third full term
Source: WDEL
U.S. Senator Chris Coons is officially running for a third full term. The Delaware Democrat announced his reelection campaign on Friday through a social media video release.
Coons stated he plans to focus on addressing the high cost of living and the international standing of the country. He noted his goal is to legislate and solve problems rather than focus on social media engagement, adding that he wants to build an agenda rooted in opportunity and security.
Coons was first elected to the Senate in a 2010 special election and won reelection in 2014 and 2020. On the Republican side, Mike Katz and John Schulli will compete in a September primary.
🇵🇷 Delaware officially creates Puerto Rico Day
Source: WDEL
Governor Matt Meyer signed legislation in Dover on Wednesday officially recognizing June 11 as Puerto Rico Day in the First State. A crowd gathered for the bill signing, which featured music and dance.
State Representative Josué Ortega, the first Puerto Rican member of the Delaware House, sponsored the measure. The chosen date lines up with the anniversary of the creation of the Puerto Rican flag. Census data cited in the legislation notes that nearly 31,000 people of Puerto Rican heritage currently live in Delaware.
Under the new state law, the annual observance will be marked with local ceremonies moving forward.
