The Wait’s Over: Constitution Yards Returns
Constitution Yards 2.0, Click It or Ticket Starts Now, Pee-UD Ranks Bar Bathrooms, Gas Drops Below $3 in Delaware
Rise and shine, 302—a “jiffy” is an actual unit of time. It’s about one one-hundredth of a second. So next time you say “back in a jiffy,” you’re technically running late.

Constitution Yards: New Location, Same Fun

Let’s get to it
NEWS YOU CAN USE
🍹 Constitution Yards is back — and in a new spot
Riverfront’s backyard bar has a new address! Constitution Yards has officially relocated and is gearing up for summer fun, with local band Side Hustle hitting the stage this Friday.
They haven’t dropped an official opening date, but if there’s live music on the calendar, we’re taking that as a green light. Expect all your favorites: lawn games, ice-cold drinks, and now: axe throwing. Yes, really. Plus, there’s even more room to spread out with a bigger beer garden and field space.
New location, same unbeatable summer vibe. Let’s call Friday the unofficial start of the season.
🚽 Pee-UD 2.0 is flushing out the truth
UD student Jeni Nance is back with Pee-UD 2.0: Bar Edition, and it’s exactly what it sounds like — a review of Main Street bar bathrooms, from bad to downright terrifying. Deer Park? Falling apart. Klondike Kate’s? One word: puke. Grotto’s? Tiny, gross, and leaking.
But hey, not all hope is lost. Hyatt Place is clean and classy (for $8 drinks, it better be), and Home Grown’s single-stall is decent — just remember to lock the door.
It’s funny, honest, and weirdly useful. You’ll laugh, you’ll cringe, and you’ll definitely pack hand sanitizer.
⛽ Gas under $3? We’ll take it!
For the first time in a while, Delaware’s average gas price just dipped below $3 — clocking in at $2.99 statewide, and as low as $2.76 at Costco and BJ’s in New Castle County.
Kent and Sussex are still a bit higher, but it’s good news for road-trippers heading into Memorial Day weekend. Blame (or thank) lower crude oil prices and some healthy competition from nearby states.
Fuel up and save those extra bucks for beach fries.
IN BUSINESS
🧵 Joann Fabric is out — here’s where to get your glitter fix
Delaware’s two Joann Fabrics are officially closed, and while the Christiana and Dover spots sit empty for now, Michael’s and Hobby Lobby are rolling out the welcome mat for orphaned crafters. Michael’s even has a banner saying, “Welcome Joann Customers!” and Hobby Lobby is opening a new Middletown location on June 2.
But here’s the silver lining — local fabric and craft shops finally get their moment. Stores like The Fabric Outlet in Glasgow and Sew What in Milltown might be your new go-to.
Less big box, more local charm. And honestly? We’re into it.
GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS
🚓 Buckle up, Delaware — or pay up
The Delaware Office of Highway Safety is rolling out its annual Click It or Ticket campaign from May 19 through June 8. That means more patrols and zero tolerance for unbuckled drivers and passengers — day or night. Even though Delaware boasts a 92% seat belt usage rate, a staggering 58% of Delaware traffic fatalities last year involved unrestrained individuals.
This initiative isn't just about avoiding fines; it's about saving lives. So, before you hit the road for Memorial Day weekend, make sure everyone in your vehicle is properly buckled up. It's a simple step that can make a big difference.
